my cousin is alwaays late on his payments, but he always calls in to accounts dept and sets up a plan and has always lived up to it. Couple times, his account ran up as far as 77 days over due. I was told they allow up to 90 before they cut the service. But yesterday, he called to say he could pay within a week, his most recent overdue amount which was 43 days overdue. The guy was a ll pushy and said he has to do it by monday or else the account will be suspended. Whats up with that? So, my cousin just wants to know how many days FIDO usually allows before fido gets really antzy. I said I would help him out on this.
Thx.

I'm sure they have some guideline (i.e. 90 days), but even after 1 day overdue they have the right to suspend service. He's probably just found someone who looked into his history. No pay, no play.

well no, cause everyone in accounts receivable has to look into your account. From what he was told, you get up to 90days overdue (only if you call to plan it), obviously you cant call at the due date and say i need 3 months haha, but with multiple calls every week or so, past the 30 days. since they dont send out a notice until 1 month overdue.
Its not a big deal to him, but he just wants to know if even his 43 days overdue is pushing it and perhaps FIDO normally doesnt allow that? hmmm i dont know, im not a fido user myself so... :confused:LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked here4yagurlz for this post.

it doesnt really work by days. its more on limit. most people like 80% have a credit limit of 300. so when you reach 300 it gets cut off. say for example u got 100 dollar bills a month u got like 3 months. if you rack up 300 in 2 weeks itll get cut off when it reaches 300. some people its no credit limit. but those ppl usually pay their bills on time anyways. im not sure if theres a specific amount of days rule.

limit has nothing to do with it, because he would have known if there was a cap on his account. if you call in like they ask you to, and say you cant pay until 2 weeks or whenever, what can they do. as long as youre calling to let them know that youre making an effort in setting up a payment plan (as opposed to hiding), they have to respect it and keep your line open. thats WHY youre calling, so your line doesnt get cut off.
But that one guy yesterday was just antzy.
So it shouldnt matter if my cousin paid on the 89th day.LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked here4yagurlz for this post.

I used to work at FIDO and we'd get customer complaints about this all the time. The general rule is 90 days. If your cousin already called and spoke to someone at accounts receivable and that person was pushy, tell him to call back. A lot of the time, the reps there can be rude (cause they get so many of the same complaints and calls), but if you keep calm and explain that you have paid when you said you would in the past, when you call back, another rep will help you out. Also, normally if a line gets cut, it can be re-activated for a $30 charge. Not sure if this helps at all.
