Free texts in that case will be from my old number or fongo number? My question was about simultaneous use, will I get 2 numbers to use at the same time in the stand by mode?
Your choice:
• Free incoming texts via Fido's assigned number.
• Free incoming texts via Fongo's number (which you may have ported in.)
• Free incoming and outgoing texts via TextNow's assigned number.

Note that only the first uses a SIM card. The other two use WiFi or data over Fido. Potentially all three numbers can coexist on a single SIM. (I also have Google Voice so that there are four numbers that can receive incoming texts, all of which are always active.)

bylo,
Thanks for the clarification. But I still don't understand.

I have 514 XXX-XXXX real-SIM mobile number, which I will port to Fongo.
I have 438 XXX-XXXX Fongo number.
I will have Fido number, which I will use to receive incoming texts - everything is clear with this number.
I'm not going to buy TextNow or whatsoever from Fongo.

1. Can I be reached by both 514 XXX-XXXX and 438 XXX-XXXX on the Fongo app after porting?
2. Is it possible to switch caller ID between 514 XXX-XXXX and 438 XXX-XXXX when placing a call / by default from Fongo app?

Thanks in advance.

P.S. Sorry for off-topic - Fongo's CSS ignored my question.

1. No. Once you port the 514 to Fongo you lose the 438.
2. No, for the same reason.

I suppose you could create a second Fongo account, with unique e-mail address, etc. and port the 514 to that. Then you'd have two Fongo numbers. But to use them both on the same phone you'd have to login to one then logoff and login to the other.

I just got this plan a little under a month ago, and live chat has confirmed that tethering is disabled.
I've had since last september and i tether all the time. Android phone with fido sim. Tablet with wifi. Turn on android hotspot on phone, connect to android hotspot with tablet. Use internet with tablet. No restrictions.

My dtr got charged $1 for a picture text (iMessage was temporarily inactivated for some reason). Going to have to call Fido and confirm text is disabled, was setup that way. Went into settings to prevent it also.

The key here is this is a new policy. Old plans I'm aware had tethering.

Since when? I just got this plan less than a month ago and I can use the tablet to hotspot my phone. I haven't tried the other way though (Putting tablet SIM in phone and hotspotting phone to tablet).

I had a live chat with them and she essentially said "all plans are individualised personally for each client. I contacted the tech team to unlock tethering for you but that is not an option. sorry" Maybe I need to complain in store.

New plans can't tether now?

Seems so, even though it wasn't mentioned on the contract. Best to test and confirm with them in store before you do it.
