Allright, so the girl call me back tonight and the plan she offered me last week is still in effect. I can't believe the last CSr I talked to, was such a son of a ***** and tell me some bullsh**. Morale of the story: when someone make you an offer make sure you know his/her name and try to ask that person its shift for the upcoming week. When you will call back fido just ask them to tell X person to call you back to your phone! They can't transfer directely to that person, however, they can send them an email so they can contact you back!

So here was the original plan she offers me and I find it pretty nice
for 35$ + 3$ (CID)
- 150 minutes LD
- Unlimited evening/weekend at 7pm
- BBM
- international text photos videos messages
- 100 mb flex data, once it will reach 100mb it cost 1cent each mb or 5$ for each 100mb reach. So 200mb 5$ more, 300mb 5$ more, etc.
- Caller ID for 3$ (4$ credit) I guess this is the maxium I can get from what I read on this forum

There Is no maximum on what you can get In terms of discounts and features.. You just need to find the right CSR.. As for the plan Itself If you like what's there and wouldn't mind the price then take It!

So does that mean fewer and fewer people are getting the $50-$52.50 plans with:

I was referring to the $17.50 plan, for which 'voice credits' are currently prohibited (except perhaps if you are renewing your same plan with no HUP).
To get HUP, 6GB data, or $30VP, you need a voice plan >=$25. The $17.50 plan no longer qualifies with these options (except possibly when renewing same voice and data plans you currently have on agreement)

Hello everyone. My plan will expire in 10 days and I'll be contacting retentions tomorrow. All I want is 100 mins, unlimited texting and 400mb-500mb of data should be good enough for me, because I have access to wifi often. Heck, 300mb might even be enough. My iPhone 3GS recently got destroyed and I'm looking to buy a new one. What would be a good deal for a plan with what I'm looking for and how can I possibly get the iPhone for a cheap price (parents aren't too excited about me paying a lot for a new iPhone, because they're worried I won't take care of it -_-)

To get a subsidized iphone you need a voice plan >=$25 and be spending at least $50 per month for voice and data (after credits). I'd suggest the $30VP (when combined with a retail voice plan it is discounted $5) with a $25 retail plan

Not exactly true. There are limits on total credits, some plans restrict 'voice credits' which mean some features/VPs cannot be fully credited with these plans because they only have a partial 'feature credit'

Seems so. They re-did the web page along with the prices... the old web page had a small link to the classic VPs with SMS, but i don't see such a link on the new page

I got nearly the exact same and took it. I got $250 min and there value pack, and contemplating which iphone 4 to get 16 versus 32 GB, and will pick up whichever phone at a FIDO store on the 16th when my billing cycle is over. I was told 6GB would be an additional $10. They also stated that they only had either 500 MB or 6 GB which really blows.

Looks like text messages are now available as an add-on:

$10 / month for unlimited Cdn texts

If I'm in a wind zone, why should I renew a contract with fido even with the best retention plan?
i don't want to leave fido but need good reasons to stay.

Because the best Fido retention deals will be better then Wind In regards to pricing/features and even reception.. Because you'll then be paying less for more and also have the chance to HUP your phone.

The best retentions plan will not come anywhere close to Wind in terms of pricing/features. Not in the same ball park, not even in the same city, nowhere close. Network size and possible reliability is the only area Fido will beat Wind.

I don't know, but I doubt it. Their retail and promo prices are already lower than pretty much anything else out there, so why would they need them to be lower with retentions? Hard to call in and say you can get a better price elsewhere when you can't.

True.. What's stopping me now from transferring to Wind Is better reception.. My business runs on my two lines with Rogers so I need to stick with one of the Big 3 for now.. Till there's an actual threat between Koodo/Wind where everything Is spectacular over there then that's when I'm willing to switch! Sucks that iPhone Isn't compatible with Wind too..

umm, koodo is a national carrier. They are telus, just like Fido is Rogers. For many people their network is superior to Rogers/Fido.

Haven't seen a lot of people get significant discounts on a HUP, especially on a 2-year contract. If you're in a Wind zone, I'd say just switch to Wind. You'll also need to increase the price of your plan to >$50 to get a discount on a HUP. Best deal you can get is probably going to be sign a 3 year and get the nexus for free (current promotion at BB is $50, Fido might beat that, or if you have some F$), waived HUP fee (and this is only if you sign a 3 yr >$50 agreement).
