Unl incoming
CID
Unl texting
6 monts unl calling (ends May 09)
All for .... wait for it ..... $10 + 6.95 + .50 + tax
Bill proof can be provided np

I tried calling in to get the SAF fee waived after they started the No SAF thing, but i was unable to if i wanted to keep this plan. WHich pretty much implies that the SAF fee is mostly for profit

.
Even with saf its still a good deal. If its just $10 + tax for that fido might as well close down lol

I signed another 2 year contract (fine with me, I like Fido). I got a LG Neon phone free (waived the fee), waived fees for changing the plan, and the following:
200 daytime minutes
unlimited nights and weekends
unlimited incoming
1000 long distance minutes
voice mail and caller ID
2500 text messages
no service or 911 charges
For the low price of $30 plus tax. I'm thrilled. I was paying $65 for much less.....

Has anyone gotten a lump sum credit on their account instead of a free phone? If so how much?

don't expect too much.....
heard that roger and fido is doing auditing....
accounts that are blacklisted or too much monthly credit, rogers or fido will remove all credits and give basic plan instead.
that really sucks

usually $50... but I think (not 100% sure) it also depends on the circumstances (i.e how long you have been with them, how much revenue you spend per year, etc...) I had $75... but then I got a free phone as well because of some glitch they had in the system back in January...

It's harder to get credits now as of March 1 apparently... credits must not be over 50% of the base plan. Before March 1 it was credits must not be over the full amount of the base plan.
There are new policies up now too about switching to prepaid and post paid and about HUPing to the iphone.. About the iPhone you must be within the range of the time you are eligible to renew your contract. No more early upgrading by paying the admin fee and full price of the iphone. More info at Hofo

Si here is what happened with Fido. Finally called them to cancel.
They gave me the same blah blah, saying I was on a 3 year cotract and if I cancel today. there is a 30 day waiting period policy and had to pay 400$ to cancel my contract. she asked me if I was ok with that. I said its not a problem.
They asked why I canceled and metioned that another local competitor has a much cheaper plan that I have, and it is very Identical to what i have.
When she transdered me to "Customer Loyalty" Line I spoke to a very nice lady. At that point, the way she answered the phone, I felt that she would give me what i want. She basically asked what was the other carrier offering and who it was. I mentioned it was Rogers, and that they have a "unadvertised offer", which ended up being the EPP plan at 20$ that was metioned in the OP, and on top of that, there value pack that they offer is 15$ and the one I currently have is 18$ and its exactly the same options. She puts me on hold, and when she came back.. this was the offer
Before:
Currently had - Fido/Fido/Rogers = 30$
- Nights/Weekends as of 7pm
- 150 Weekday Minutes
Value Pack = 18$
- Unlimited incoming/Receiving texts
- Call Display with Name Display, Who Called
- Enhanced Voice Messaging
- 12MB of Data (I have a smart phone and when i use their data they up to 12MB, they dont charge me, and the dont charge when i use Ext Wireless)
SAF = 6.95
911 = .50
with tax = $62.59
Now:
Currently have - EPP plan @ 17.50
- Rogers/Fido/Fido included
- Nights/Weekends as of 5pm included
- 200 Weekday Minutes included
Value Pack = 18$
- Unlimited incoming/Receiving texts
- Call Display with Name Display, Who Called
- Enhanced Voice Messaging
- 12MB of Data (I have a smart phone and when i use their data they up to 12MB, they dont charge me, and the dont charge when i use Ext Wireless)
SAF = 0
911 = 0
with tax = $40.07
Im pretty happy with it..Didnt want to be greedy to chizzle the value pack... Think I couldve gotten Better? I wast edxpectig that, I was gonna cxl and go to rogers

Anyone with CityFido able to get some $ off the BB plan?
I want the 1GB plan but seriously... $30 a month for it seems steep.

I had an old plan with two different phones with fido..so two plans in total. I called them and said i want to cancel one of the lines and i was give this plan
She transfered one of my lines, which had the old plan to the new plan with no system access fee. Usually you have to pay $ 25 to transfer from old plans to new, but she waived that aswell
$ 25
200 weekday
unlimited incomming
1000 Ew/Weekend starting at 7
Caller id
Enhanced voicemail
Total after taxes: around $ 29
I can still cancel the second line anytime. I use to pay $ 50 for this line so almost saving $ 20 each month. I've been with them for 4 years and have an year left on this phone line's contract

sorry but is there direct retentions line like before? the 1-866-273-3436 number isn't working anymore.
Also, they just called me to renew my plan that expires in May. I have:
Grandfathered $30:
200 anytime
Fido-Fido anywhere in Canada ( I use this feature to call my family in BC for free hehe)
Unltd Nights and Weekends
$10 credit
Caller ID only - $6/7
$7 credit
System Access Fee + 911= 7.50
Total comes to 27.50 + tax = $30 something
What do you think I can get?

Took about 5-6 calls with Fido. They goofed big-time and my account showed that I signed a 6-year contract (negotiating power).
200 minutes
Unlimited E/W from 5pm
2500 text messages
VM/CID
F2F
$17.10 (EPP)
+ $10 to add F2R/F2RHP
+ $15 BIS/Email (Blackberry plan)
+ $10 Unlimited incoming
- $10 credit
No SAF/911 Charges
~ $43 + taxes

This is EXACTLY what I've been trying to get (minus F2F) from retentions for the past 2 days, but they won't budge on the VM/CID. What was your technique in negotiating?
The 1st agent I spoke to offered me the regular $25 and $17.50 retention plans - I said I'd think about it. The 2nd agent kept insisting that he can't modify the other agent's offer and that I need to speak with the other agent. I asked him to just make me a new offer and he flat out said he can't. Do I have to straight-up say that I decline the previous agent's offer before a new agent can offer me something else?
I tried the "playing dumb" and being polite route, but that didn't get me anywhere. I'm so close to using the "I know you can do it, I know people who have gotten credits" method but my only proof is this thread and HoFo...

My two year contract expired in March and I called them to work out a new deal. I really wanted an iPhone so I worked out the following plan with a 3 year contract (iPhone purchased at $249 plus tax)
200 daytime minutes
Unliimited Evenings(start @ 7pm)/Weekends
Unlimited incoming local
unlimited Fido-to-Fido local
caller Id
Voicemail
2500 outgoing text
System Access fee waived
500 MB data (for $20)
For a total of $45 +tax/month
Thought it was a great deal so I signed the contract.
