Not bad if you can get on their $57 plan with that offer.

I wonder if I can get on prepayed for 2 weeks and then switch on fido monthly+ porting my Rogers number. That would be a great deal.

No special code from the email. Just say call 18663193436 to get the deal.

Rogers has the deal as well. I got the 3 free SIM cards awhile back from Rogers. Gave one to a friend, activated online, had to buy a $10 prepaid card to load it and Rogers gives a $40 activation bonus. Unfortunately we didn't read the fine print thoroughly and I thought the bonus was immediately applied. Chose socialite 40 plan but upon activation they only provide a $10 credit the first month and then $5 credit for the next 6 months. My friend used up the $20 on the account in the first few hours thinking that the $40 plan was active. Called Rogers to inquire and the nice CSR appoligized for the misunderstanding and put a $20 credit back on the account. During that call the CSR offered to switch the phone to a monthly plan with 50% off for 6 months.

not sure if it's actually worth it for prepaid users
i have a prepaid account and got the email as well but for my purposes, staying prepaid is probably the way to go

Data fro prepaid is very expensive, right? Are you not using data at all? Just curious about how you get around the data.

Hmm, my brother who was on prepaid for about a year just recently (2 weeks ago) got transferred under my account and signed a contract for the iphone... Would fido discount him 50% for 6 months now?

Pretty much the same with me. Got a smartphone so I could WiFi instead of paying for data. I'm sticking with prepaid :) .
