You can add a credit card in the Speedpass app.
Yes, I know that. But do I need to in order to use speed pass?

Can I use the app for the fuel savings and then pay with a credit card at the pump?

Thanks.

No, because there is no barcode scanner at the pump to scan the discount card, only in store.

No, you can't. Because the speedpass app is all 1 action, pay with credit card for a selected pump, with or without savings card.

This seems a bit counterintuitive for those with an actual SpeedPass fob

I have to go inside the store to use the barcode, and then pay via the fob, that seems silly. The whole point of the actual SpeedPass fob was to bypass the cashier at the machine, very dumb of Esso not to integrate the speedpass+ app with speedpass itself

There was never way to integrate the discount on the fob, which is why the app was created. What’s the problem with adding the same payment method on the fob to the app? You get your discount and bypass the cashier.

I don't have speedpass. I just usually swipe my credit card at the gas station.

Does this mean that to use this offer, I would need to go inside the store?
I got Fido $15/month plan.

If any FIDO users do not use ESSO gas, please PM me as I would be willing to purchase this offer from you.

Are Xtra deals only available Thursdays or for the entire week?

The app actually detects your current Esso location once you are parked at the pump and then allows you to select the pump number. As long as you have a credit card and the fuel discount card loaded, then you can activate the pump before you get out of your car. I found it handy in the winter when I can stay in the car longer than having to dig out the fob to scan at the pump.

It should be good for the week, but quantities are supposedly limited.

couldn't click 'go get' even after closing the app and signing back in.

Good to know we can include in speedpass so as not to have to go in-store.

Can we still do the trick - talk to the cashier saying I wanna buy 100L gas to get $2.5 off but later only pump 10L ?
I just tried it today and it didn't work. Authorized $100 worth of gas and then pumped less than 10 liters. I got 21¢ off, just the discount for what I actually pumped, not what I originally authorized.

Or add it to the Speedpass+ app like everyone else has mentioned...
actually i keep passing these cards and offers to my colleagues.
you need to pump at least 25 litres to save the $1.50.
I only pump about 12 titres every couple of months for my chevy volt.
the rest is electric at the equivalent of 1 litre per 100km.
