Tekken 7 is solid so far.

Pros:
- Has all character ending movies from all previous Tekken games unlockable in the gallery.
- Story mode is grittier and darker than in previous Tekken games.

Cons:

- No character endings in arcade mode for Tekken 7. Fight 6 battles in Arcade mode and it is over. I think all the character endings are only in the new Story mode this time.
- Many returning characters have the same movesets they've had since Tekken 5.
- Boxing Kangaroo character Rodger was finished pulled out of the roster due Namco caving in to whining Animal Activists (it's a videogame!)

Other:
- Most of the voice acting is Japanese with English subtitles. (The announcer is in English).
- Characters speak in their native languages only and other characters somehow all understand one another.
- For example there are Japanese (most of them are) characters, English, Italian, Chinese, Spanish, etc characters.
- Characters that previously spoke English in previous Tekkens now speak French is they are from a French country, etc.

I recently got Rev 2 (Guilty Gear) but I can't stop looking at Tekken 7 streams. I wish I had more time to play games. :(
With Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator 2, I think it made the least improvements over the previous one.
There are only a couple new characters over the DLC characters from last year's game. I am also not a fan of some
of the grating heavy metal music tracks on some of the stages and menus. Overall, GG Xrd Revelator 2 seems like more of an expansion than a full sequel.

Tekken 7 analysis by Digital Foundry:

-Smooth 60 frames per second lock on all versions.
- All versions use Unreal Engine 4. The Tekken games on last gen consoles used Unreal Engine 3.

Regular PS4: 1536 x 864 native resolution. (Sub 900p native resolution, -4% on each axis below 900p)

PS4 Pro: Full 1080p native resolution (1920 x 1080p) with higher quality visual settings.
A 56% boost in pixels over PS4 regular.
- Improved texture filtering, lighting, AA over PS4 regular.
- During online matches, PS4 Pro is still 1080p native resolution but disables the improved texture filtering, and lighting effects
down to the same settings as the regular PS4.

XBox One: 1280 x 720 (720p native resolution).
- Less detailed settings than regular PS4 as well. No ambient occlusion. No depth of field effect.
- Screen tearing only present in this version.

PC version: Runs at maxed out settings on a GTX 1060 at 1080p on this card.
- when set to 1440p resolution, framerate drops to 40 fps on the GTX 1060.
- At maxed out settings the PC version has improved texture filtering over the PS4 Pro.
- Enhanced bloom and lighting. However, Ultra settings adds chromatic aberration, which makes the game look blurry.

Load times between the character select and match start (tested loading the same characters and same stage):

PC using a Solid State Drive: 15.14 seconds, 15.12 seconds 1st test
PS4 Pro stock (default) drive: 21.17 seconds, 24.08 seconds 1st test
PS4 regular (default) drive: 22.23 seconds, 21.59 seconds 1st test
XBox One (default) drive: 41.05 seconds, 40.20 seconds 1st test

New to trying out fighting games on a PC...
Is Steam the only place taking PC preorders for Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, and at full price?
Anything through other sources like the amazon/bestbuy/walmart 20% off posts for console games in the hot deals forum?

Tekken 7's online matchmaking has been pretty much broken since launch.
It is difficult to get into any online multiplayer matches at all.

The following are not considered competitive fighting games but at E3 today:

Dragon Ball FighterZ announced for XB1, PS4, & PC.

Blade Strangers (crossover characters from Cave Story and Code of Princess) announced for PS4, Switch, and PC.

Cave Story. Now that bring back memory.

Both Blade Strangers and Dragonball FighterZ looks interesting. MvC I feels like such a let down.

Wut?

On an interview with the producer, the first thing she literally said was that DBFZ is meant to be a competitive fighting game.

It sounds like the character was removed over fear of reprisal from animal activists because there was a real life event involving someone punching a kangaroo in the face.

“There was a video of a man’s dog being headlocked by a kangaroo, and he punched it in the face. It turned into a big problem” – Katsuhiro Harada, exec producer

“It turned into a big problem. People were complaining about him punching a kangaroo. It seems that in the last few years there’s a lot more animal activists – even though they probably wouldn’t play our game they would still hear about that, about a kangaroo in our game being punched, and would complain about it.” Kuma the bear is still in the game, though, because a bear is “obviously stronger than a human being”

Wow the social justice warriors know no limits it would seem. There's plenty of instances of animal cruelty in mass media. Game of thrones comes to mind right away.

Duck Hunt Duo is in smash bros as well and that's a dog.

Another prime example of SJW taking it too far

Capcom received negative feedback from people calling out Chun-Li and some other characters have faces that are too ugly looking in Marvel vs Capcom Infinite and say they'll look
into fixing it before the final release. The free story demo for Marvel vs Capcom Infinite is playable on PS4 and XB1 now.
