Is there an easy, convenient "canadian" way to get new movies/conent legally? A way that applies to the vast majority of people...
With Blockbuster and Rogers Video gone what are the alternatives?

I Just rent movies through my PS3, $6 a movie for 720p with 5.1 DD.
Seriously, why steal for $6? Seems pretty sad to me.

CinemaNow Canada
New movies typically $4.99 to stream, $19.99 to buy for download. Available for PC or selected video players (e.g., Samsung TV/Blu-Ray player).
Maybe not the best deal unless you're watching a holiday movie with the whole family for $4.99.
crackle.com (owned by Sony) also offers some free movies online in Canada.Last edited by JamesA1; Dec 11th, 2012 at 05:04 PM.

It's likely more of a scare tactic to get people to use some common sense and pay for things rather then just take them because they can. I doubt anything will come of it yet.
But, lets face it here people, if you steal and get caught, you get punished. This is no different then taking a DVD from Walmart. Don't steal and you don't have to worry. Seems pretty simple to me.Last edited by nsx; Dec 11th, 2012 at 06:28 PM. Reason: Removed quote (nsx).

I wonder if Bell/Rogers/Shaw have been acquiring the media firms, in order to go after the users of competitive Internet services who pirate? Of course, these firms would definitely like piracy to be shut down as they have proprietary video services they sell...
I'm not into conspiracy theory....but if Bell-owned CTV targetted Teksavvy users for prosecution, that would cause a lot of headaches for Teksavvy, when Bell users are probably just as bad of pirates.

so private trackers for torrents are bullet proof?
LOL. I hope I don't get the dreaded email. I rarely download through BT though mostly through non-SSL usenet.
Secondly, if you are the subject of their request, earlier today, we sent out notices to those affected. We sent an email to the same address that you would normally receive your invoices from us. Please be sure to check your inbox.
Did anyone receive the email?Last edited by alanbrenton; Dec 11th, 2012 at 03:00 PM.
