oh, didnt read inside that thread before posting since the title was for FF versus 13

And we should care why? FF13 was a complete and utter diappointment.

I wasn't a huge fan of the game, but I am sure there are some fans =) and hopefully there will be a huge improvement from this sequel

They might as well ditch the whole game except for the graphics and rebuild from there. Complete fail.

Final Fantasy XIII has the worst story and dialogue in the mainstream series post-Final Fantasy V.
Still a "good" game but mediocre for Final Fantasy standards.

Instead of listening to the fanbase, SquareEnix keeps veering towards unpopular decisions. A Final Fantasy VII, (or even 6 or 8) HD
remake would sell more than FFXIII and XIII-2 combined.

In its place Square decided to invest in terrible offshoots like FF7 Dirge of Cerberus, X-2, and now likely another flop.
X-2 was generally not received well.

I'm going to play this. I do agree that there are weaknesses with the story and voice acting on FF13; but there was enough there to keep me playing.

A couple of things that I would like to see (for any FF in general):
- The option of using the original japanese dialogue with english subtitles.
- Bring back mini games. I remember playing the card games from FF8 & FF9 for hours. I didn't mind the occasional Blitzball match from FFX either.

SE's death is foreseeable.
Lets look at their history
pre-ff = almost dead
first ff movie = took a serious hit, merge with enix
ff13 + 14 = massive damage
another flop = another merge? I wouldnt be suprised if activision buys them. After all, they have something in common and that is milking

You should import the HK version of FFXIII if you like subs. It has JPN audio with Eng subs. Unfortunately, it's done by slapping the US version subs onto the original audio track so even someone with elementary knowledge of Japanese can pick out that the subs are wrong in a lot of cases. And the audio cuts out periodically too because it was slapped together.

Good luck getting dual audio for a US release. People have been asking this since PSX days. SE is ran by ass clowns. They have no ****ing clue about anything.

It looks like a f**kin waste of time and money... and that's the nice way of putting it.

The premise is already obvious.

- Long gray haired dude is Lightning's rival BUT also love interest at the same time. I know, ingenious, right?
- based on the "fantasy" elements of the sequel (aka what Lightning is wearing) you have the whole technology has gone backwards thing again. The world is not Futuristic Fantasy, but now Arthurian because modern technology has died and disappeared along with Cocoon. Wait.. this seems familiar... oh ya FINAL FANTASY X.

Square Enix shot themselves in the foot with XIII so I really don't know why they are doing this.
You'd think they couldn't outdo themselves after that abortion called final Fantasy XIV

i finally had teh chance to play FFXIII and honestly its not bad. probably hovering at a 8/10. yeah, its not up to par with some past games but its still enjoyable.

honestly, games at a minimum need to be fun.

people need to get over it, you don't like it, don't buy it. your money, spend it where you want to spend it. SE didn't force you to buy the game. People calling it a flop need to reconsider its sold over 5 million copies worldwide.

It's the second FF that I felt asleep while playing.

You can effective play the game with 2 buttons. L1, and X.

I paid 60 bucks for that abortion. The money I spent gives me the right to complain.
