It can't be used in Canada, and requires a new US phone number.
Doesn't really sound like roaming.. more like creating a new US prepaid account?

Finally competition for Wireless Roaming in the US: Roammobility
I am travelling to the US next week and my friend pointed out this new company www.roammobility.com. It is Canadian and resells T-Mobile's service in the US to Canadian's. It has an agreement with T-Mobile and the rates are unreal, when compared to Rogers, Bell or Telus.
You can use your own phone or by theirs. They also offer a mobile hotspot device for a data connection.
Example of rates;
7 days or unlimited talk and text for $25 (From US to US or Canada)
2GB of data for $60
plus many other combinations.
They claim prices 99% cheaper then the big 3.
It cannot be used in Canada (probably not allowed because of CRTC)
All prices in CAN$
http://www.roammobility.com
Just ordered my SIM
I hope and believe they will bring Rogers, Bell and Telus to their knees._______________

Yeah, just get a T-mo SIM yourself. If you want data, the pay by the day option is best.
$1/day for unlimited talk and text
$2/day for unlimited talk, text and 2G data
$3/day for unlimited talk, text and 200MB of HSPA+ data, unlimited 2G data
You only pay for it on the days you use it.

Yes the US companies are cheaper. But harder to purchase. I personally only travel sporadically to the US. 3-4 times a year. It not always easy to find a T-Mobile store to buy a SIM. And I have wasted time searching and buying the SIM once I arrive in the US City. I have bought them twice before only to have them expire from 3 months of non-use.
The roammobility will ship the SIM or phone within Canada and only expires after 1 year of non-use.
Anyway. I know you get a US number, but the prices are way cheaper then anything as easy to purchase for Canadians._______________

How do the T-Mob "Pay by The Day" work if you need to call home while in the US?
Country Rate per minute
Canada $0.49 / min.
If I do the $3/day do they just bill me $3/day + usage if I call home? $0.49 is steep...

i was able to buy 2 tmobile sims on amazon.com for $9.53 shipped before i just looked it up and it seems the seller isnt selling them anymore and most that ship to canada from the .com site charge a lot for shipping to canada. but you can get it for less than $10 on ebay if u look, most already include $3.66 on the card when you activate
I used google voice to call canada for free, you can also use skype or other apps to call over the internet but google voice is pretty good if you have an account just add your new US number to your google voice account, if your really cheap u can just get the data and do all your texting and calling over the internet with various apps, google voice google talk, skype etcLast edited by dre145; Jan 17th, 2012 at 07:31 AM.

I use a T-Mo Sim when I travel to the US. I have put $100 on it initially (1 year); every time I add money, even $10, it is extended to a year from the date of top up. Plus Target has their prepaid wireless plan, where you purchase 4 top ups of $25, and receive a 5th one free (just received $50 from a $25 top up last week). Roams in Canada on Rogers, so perfect for a back up if needed (you need to call and have them activate international roaming and usage). Plus, the nice part about it is I have a Google # that my friends in the states can call me on, and it rings my US cellular.

On the t-mobile pre-paid plans, calls back to Canada are $0.49 and texts $0.10/each. With ROAMMOBILITY they are included.
You have to purchase the $100 pay as you go from T-Mobile to keep it for 1 year. ROAMMOBILITY is 1 year expiry of total non-use no matter what you buy.
As always the more you work at something and do research, the cheaper you can usually get it. So T-Mobile can be cheaper. But I personally have wasted time looking for T-Mobile or AT&T stores. Then waiting as they activated my account and SIM. Only to have it expire 3 months later and have to do it all over again.
I also had to count my minutes and texts for anything I send to a Canadian #.
For me and I am sure some other people that just want to do it easy, buy the SIM or phone from ROAMMOBILITY and arrange things here before going, this will save time and tons of $ compared to using Rogers/Bell/Telus roaming.
Just wanted to let others know this was another option now._______________

One nice redeeming feature of Roam is the included unlimited calling back to Canada.
It can pay for itself in long distance charges saved.
