First time selling and shipping to the USA

Hi.

I'm selling an item thru marketplace on boardgamegeek.com that has a value of 200 CAN and shipping it to the US. This is my first time selling and shipping an Item to the USA.

I want to be paid thru paypal. I'm a little bit scared because I heard some stories that the buyer can make a claim that they didn't receive the item, so I would like to know what I can do to protect myself when shipping my item to the US.

Also is there something special I need to know when filling out the Customs Documents ?

Ship with tracking, insurance, and signature required. Declare the full value on customs forms and be accurate with the description so you are covered by insurance. Keep all receipts and carbon copies.

I've heard of some people taking a video of them packaging the item and writing the buyer's address on the package and then also taking pictures at the post office with the stamps (or metered stickers) and tracking bar code clearly visible.

Basically it's better to have too much documentation than not enough.
