Are the batteries brand new ?
If they are, it could just be the batteries are too discharged. Try to fully charge them up in a charger. Use them to drain them all down. Repeat the process one or two times. Then, put them in the mouse ...

FIXED: Replacement batteries for Logitech MX900 (or 700)
I think my batteries for my MX900 are dying. The funny thing is that I replaced them with some Sanyo 2300 mAh and the mouse starts blinking red. So I place it in the charger and it stays blinking red (should be blinking green).
I am wondering if any of you that have MX900 or MX700 have replaced your batteries, and if so, what brand and type you replaced them with.
Thanks!Last edited by PennyArcade; Jun 5th, 2006 at 02:24 PM.

I've been using the batteries that came with my mx700 for probably close to two years now, they still hold a decent charge. For your sake, I gave my energizer 2500mAh a try in it and they worked just fine...but they're fully charged and have been used before.

I replaced the ones in my 700 with generic 2100mah NMH AA's. Works fine.

Get a 4 pack of energizer 2500mah rechargables...Its got at least 2x the life of the ones that come with the mouse... and you can use the extra 2 batteries for gaming emergencies. lol
You can probably shop around and get an external charger with the 4 pack as well for $24. I rarely use the mouse charger, simply because the newer chargers charge faster._______________

Update
I recharged some 2100 mAh batteries with a separate charger and plugged them in.
It works now. I guess you cannot charge completely dead batteries in the mx900 charger.
Thanks for all your help
