Food that help create bad breath and help make it go away
So I was reading a Reader's Digest issue at an optometrist's office yesterday when I came across some interesting tidbits: The following food will help *freshen up* your mouth and help reduce bad breath (on top of all your regularly dental maintenance work)
- yogurt
- cranberries
- pineapple
- eating raw vegetables (celery, carrot, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes etc)
- fruits, especially the ones rich in Vitamin C
In addition, the following food is known to generate some bad breath
- onions
- garlics
- alcoholic beverages
- foods with high protein intake (meat etc)
Just wondering if you guys can add a few more items to both lists. I am sure we all enjoy our favourite cuisine but there are times and places for everything i.e. you may not want to have shawarmas at the office all the time (unless you brush your teeth right after ;-)
Cheers!_______________

Stay away from delicious street vendor sausages if you have to talk to anybody for the rest of the day. So good... but stays with you for a long time.

For bad breath I find eating pineaple, strawberry or fresh apple can help a bit.
But some foods I find leave a bad taste in your mouth for hours- even if no one else can smell it, I can taste even after brushing my teeth.
Indian food does that a lot and some vegetarian food too.
I find the best thing that always works is Supersmile powder mouthwash!
You can buy it online in Canada.
I actually use it to clean my Invisalign braces and it makes them look like new.
I was stuck with the same aligner for 6 weeks and it looked brand new the whole time!

you can buy the powder mouthwash in Canada at Essential Day Spa, they are in Vancouver and shipping is just $5, they ship fast too!
Dermstore also sells it,but ships from the US again.
there is prob other places selling Supersmile also, but haven't really looked._______________

Personally, tonight, I blamed Astoria's tzatziki sauce.
I seriously thought I ate an entire bulb of garlic...
Every time I burped at the pub, I'd try to blow it away from the "line of scent" of people who care lol._______________

Drink lots of water. If you let it sit on your tongue, it will get worse.

Listerine is a very temporary fix. It doesn't necessarily help due to the high alcohol content. The alcohol dries the inside of your mouth which causes the bacteria to thrive and worsens bad breath in the long run unless you are continuously drinking water after to keep the mouth moist and flush away any accumulation of the bacteria. Mouth rinses that kill bacteria without alcohol are better at controlling bad breath than alcohol based ones.
