nothing "canadian" about these greedy companies. We have really cut down on processed junk altogether.......mostly buy veggies, meat, fruits, flour etc.
Pretty much everything has been cut/reduced in size while price has skyrocketed......

don't feel any sympathy for these companies at all these days.

KD hasn't had a shrink in the 20 years or so I've had it, or if it has, maybe 10% or so.
So not sure where you've been to be suddenly surprised by the quantity in 2017 ;)
KD has been 225g for, forever now. (At least 20 something years)
At best, maybe it was once a 250g box, but that was quite a while ago.

I'd be more angry with the dollar store version @ Dollarama. Italpasta Mac & Cheese is now a 175g box (down from 200g) all just so the price can stay 50 cents, lol
(Italpasta mac & Cheese is actually pretty good btw...)

Photographic evidence, KD was 225g in the 80's to now - playnice is right

I can't imagine there'd be any reason to shrink KD.
I mean... it's dried pasta and "cheese".
Pasta is cheap in bulk so you're paying for repackaging.
Cheese is expensive but I can't imagine there's that much cheese in there.

...and again, it's an issue of overall price impact.
This is why, when competing with KD, it may be smart to offer a 200g package so that the price can appear to be cheaper while the quality tries it's best to stay on par with KD
Shrinking to 175g just to maintain a 50 cent price? I guess that was the only way to maintain the quality of the cheese @ 50 cents a box.
I was as fan of Italpasta, but now I wait until the 200 g size goes on sale @ 2 for a dollar in the regular grocery stores, since it seems the 175g size is only @ Dollarama.

In a rare case of UPSIZING...

Dare Dipped cookies are increasing from 160g to 240g.

Well they have to compete with Peek Freans and are hoping this is their saving grace. Otherwise this item will be discontinued.

What about the price? In any case, this is definitely an exception...good to see.

On the other hand, notice how they claim made with "made with whole grain". Yet when you look at ingredients regular wheat is before whole grain wheat. For all we know, product may contain 1% of whole grain. I guess this is similar to companies selling chips with veggies designed on bags. Trying to make customers feel less guilty.

Lays and Ruffles chips are smaller. Heard this from a vendor in Wal Mart. Also no more buy 2 for $5(?). I think these are the "Family Size" bags, now 220g and 240g.

I've noticed the new price @ No frills to be $2.77 each. (on sale)
Go to Costco for the best deal! $4.99 gets you a 585g bag. (every day price)

SDM has weekend sales as low as $1.88 for the 220g bags.
