[Foodland] Foodland: 200 Airmiles WUB $150 foodland GC

Updated from old deal of June 2015

Deal starts Friday, August 26, 2016
Deal ends Thursday, September 1, 2016

Earn 200 bonus airmiles for every $150.00 foodland gift card you buy at foodland.

Check the front page of the flyer:

These promos used to happen fairly regularly but seem to occur less frequently as of late.

If you collect airmiles and have a Sobey / foodland / freshco near your home this is a no-brainer.

$10 / 95am = $0.105 per airmile
200am * $0.105 = $21.00 = base value of 200am
$21.00 / $150.00 = 14% rate of return on bonus.

Thanked. Can the Foodland GCs be used at Sobeys and Freshco, or only at Foodland?

That means you can buy a $150 gift card from foodland, get the 200 airmiles then take it to Sobey and get further 100 airmiles for spending $100.

If you buy 2 gift cards and spend them entirely at Sobey you would have 700 airmiles. 23% back to you! Not too shabby if you can find some deals at Sobey.

I find Sobeys to be overpriced and I don't think they Price Match

Yeah, but it is no different than Metro or Loblaws when it comes pricing. They leave it to their mid and lower tier stores for the better pricing as well as the price matching. Still a decent deal if you use the Air Miles for grocery vouchers.

I shop at FreshCo, so these gift cards are a nice bonus as I get 2% cashb back on my Aspire Travel + I get air miles which I am planning to redeem when a nice deal on a tablet comes out.

Got a bunch. So in 14 days when the AM post, I should become a gold member.

In the Foodland flyer it says GC cannot be used to buy GCs. But I can go to Sobeys where they allow GC to buy other GCs.

Is air miles gold actually useful?

You probably won't even notice the benefits, there could be the occassional gold deal that interests you, but those are few and far between and who knows if you'll have the miles to take advantage.

You can't purchase gc's with a sobeys gc.

Lots. Probably similar to SDM. I've purchased CT and Sears GCs there.

That's what I was told once before by a Sobeys cashier. Then someone here in RFD said it can be done. So I went to Sobeys to do that. So I can confirm it can be done.

Wow cool good to know but I assume it's store or cashier dependent as my store refused last time they had this same 3-4 weeks back
