Ford gave me a battery report, do I really need to replace it?

Today I when to Ford for a oil change, than they told me to replace my battery because of the following:

Rating my battery is 590CCA, but actual is 440CCA with actual voltage of 12.94V

If I need to get a new one, any suggestions? I heard Kirkland battery from Costco are good, is the price good too(DO i need a membership to buy the kirkland battery from Costco??)?? or another brand? and is it true that if you are running on a bad battery, you will eventually kill the alternator?

I drive a 2000 Focus, brought in Nov. 2000, so battery is almost 5 yrs old...

It's crazy to not replace a battery when needed. Costco is around $60, a few bucks more at Walmart (but Walmart will install.. Costco will not). Once a battery doesn't hold a good charge, your charging circuit is at risk (in the hundreds of $) and your start-up system has extra strain... which in total adds up to a very bad scenario one day.... big tow, garage that you're unfamiliar with, and finally a large bill.

Batteries have a 5~ year life expectancy, replace them in good weather.
