Fossball Table Deal?
Not sure if this should be in here - but looking for a solid Fossball table deal on Boxing day. $$ and sturdy-ness are the main issues. Don't want some flimsy cheap stuff. Any recommendations?

Costco has a nice Sportcraft foosball table for $299.99. It's definitely the nicest table I've seen around here in stores. My cousin picked it up and I can say it feels sturdy and doesn't feel cheap. The players are plastic but they are definitely heavier than other tables with cheap plastic players. The rods are solid steel as well unlike most of the cheaper tables which end up warping. The only thing I didn't like was that it had 3 players for goal. It took me a while to get used to that. You can probably take the two players off if you want. Nevertheless I would say this a pretty good price for this table.
If you wanna to see what it looks like, go to Sportcraft.com and go to Table Games -> Foosball and look for Model # 35095.

I second that... I bought one about 3 years ago and love it. Feels really sturdy, but mine has the plastic players, where this one has some slick looking metal ones.

Tornado foosball is the only option..
I only post when it's something I know about extensively and first-hand, and encourage you to get a Tornado foosball table. Why? These are the tables that are used in the professional tour (yes, there is one, and yes, I know b/c I actually am a member). There are 2 major tornado tournaments a year, in Vegas (March, the "Nationals") and Dalls (August, the "World's"). Total payout is over $135,000 USD, and at least 30 countries are represented. Even in Toronto, we have 2-3 tournaments a year with payouts around $2000.
In the off-chance that you become serious about foosball, and want to pit your skills against exceptional players, it's better to buy the right table now. There is a complete line of Tornado tables according to budget (from $500 to $2000 CAD), and each one is better than the costo/ct/walmart etc brands.. many players who buy these 'home' brands regret it later when they see what can be done on Tornado's.
check out www.gilchristvending.com - they have a showroom in Toronto with all sorts of stuff (pool tables, jukeboxes etc..and several kinds of foosball tables).
if you're interested in playing in leagues here in Toronto, or tournaments, check out www.torontofoos.ca (my site - plus link to ontario forums), as well as www.vifa.com, www.foosball.com, and www.canadafoos.com.

i dunno bout the popularity of foosball down in the east side of CAN, but down over hear in the west side... its pretty popular..... at our Univ. campus, theres ALWAYS somebody playin at foosball table everyday (except weekends).... its CRAZY at lunch times....
the ppl that own the place make SO MUCH $$$$$$ too.... its 50c / game with 8 or 9 balls.... considering theres prbly AT LEAST 100 games a day, thats $50 per table per day, but theres 3 tables available 4 play.... so that makes it a whoppin $150 profit/day.... they may cost alot to buy in the beginning, but it all comes back after only a few months!
lets c, $150/day * 5 days = $750 /week * 4 weeks = $3000/ mth
even for one table that costs $2000 ( the most expensive, high quality tables), about 3 months worth of gameplay will bring back profits already... and the Univ. i go to has been open for quite a while (>10 years?)... not to mention that the foos tables at my Univ *ARE NOT* the high quality tables, so i'm guessing they prbly only cost at MAX $1k....
yep... so ppl r crazy bout foosball here.... especially the engineers..

I surely hope that's a typo or a joke.
If you're buying a foosball table for that little you're either not talking about foosball, or talking about some fischer price table a foot tall.
Years ago we got our foosball table really cheap because it was a B grade. All that was wrong was the wood was chipped off, and badly varnished. Didn't really care, and it saved us a bundle. Though it's not like they advertise the defective one's.

I agree... you;re not getting away with anything less than $500.. i bought a Fabi home table for $1000 after taxes..... i kno it was expensive, but watever..... i was addiced.....
btw.... the 3 goalie system is the new style.. cuz there are no sloped sides and the players can get in the corners... so less chance of dead balls... btw i play slowball on Fabi.. sick

Yeah there's no point in getting a cheap table. They'll be useless in no time. A friend of mine set up a cheap one last yr and in about 3 games we already had a couple of the rods warped.
Here's a really nice table with solid metal players. Made in Portugal. I'm sure these aren't cheap.
