Found hidden bag of bloody clothes...

So....I don't quite now what to think about this...

I've had some foundation guys doing work down in the crawlspace of my building for about 3 weeks..they finished yesterday and as they were leaving they informed me...


"Hey, by the way...we didn't want to get involved but we found a garbage bag buried in the dirt underneath some wood that had a jacket and some gloves that were just covered in blood...lots and lots of blood....but we threw it out as we didn't want to get involved with the cops...."

My first reaction is "wow, you guys are stupid, that could have been important" followed by rationalizations that there could be many reasons someone would decide to hide a bag of bloody clothes in a crawlspace....

So...the "evidence" of course is long gone....so is this even worth mentioning to the cops? I never even saw this stuff but it's kind of weirding me out...

Sounds SO sketchy. Why would they tell you and expect it to be on the DL? If they have nothing to do with the "crime," why would they not want to let the police know?

If it really did happen, that would put you in a tough situation. If you call the cops, they will question those guys for sure which means that you baited them out. Could that cause some problem for OP down the road?

OP, which area are you in? I don't want to be insensitive but if OP is in Toronto, could it be related to the abduction? Could that lead to the case being solved? Just a thought that popped into my head...

Actually the story is believeable. I work with a lot of contractors before and they do a lot of stupid stuff like this. If they call the cops, there will be an investigation on-site. This really means to contractors that they have to stop work and still pay their workers. Contractors are cheap, and always find the easiest way to do things.

I had an incident where we found large bones while digging in a backyard (for remediation of the site). Luckily, we were there or else they would have thrown it out without us knowing. P.s. It turned out that it was pig bones.

it's not unusual for people to come across weird stuff buried around their home.

bloody gloves, clothes, teeth, hair, bones, jewelry, voodoo dolls etc etc..

I'm not in Toronto and the gloves/jacket struck me as being very very old...but I dunno...thats just the impression I got....

I would call the cops, obviously not 911.

If it was a glove or something small.. probably just a previous home owner or the original contractor that buried it. Since these are pretty big items, generally that means something serious happened.

I could care less if the contractors are questioned by the cops. What if is tied to something serious? They now commited a crime by tossing the bag!
