Found installer code for my DSC alarm

Posted this awhile ago and it seems like it was deleted, probably at the request of the alarm company. Not sure why it is a problem posting since I am out of contract.

Gr@nd @l@rms installed my alarm 7 years ago (new construction house). I found out the installer code is the last four digits of their phone number 2100. This code worked for a couple of other people I know who had a new house with a DSC alarms system installed by this company.

To see if it works key in *8 2100. Hope this helps others.

I don’t use Grand but, I think you should be commended for getting this information out

Thx, the code works. I asked for it in the past but they refused to give it to me even though i own the panel.

Lucky you. I had to brute force my way to the installer code. It took several months but trying 0000, 0001, 0002, etc. until I finally got it. I had no other way of getting it. I was able to disable a bunch of stuff (like calling alarm company when I don't subscribe to one).

Would someone be able to disarm a triggered alarm knowing this code? Hope not.

If it is your installer code, you can easily change it.

I started this way too, then tried number for the Address, account number, then I tried the phone number and it worked. I have been trying various numbers for a couple of years. Almost gave up.

What do you enter after the installer code to disconnect from the call centre?

Sure, but is someone who has the installer code able to disable a triggered alarm?

The previous homeowner had to pay out the contract, so when it expired I tried to get the installer code to make some changes, but they wouldn't. So I tried your brute force method until my patience ran out, then I elected to use the other brute force and ripped the main board out.
Surprisingly, if anyone is technical savvy, its remarkably easy to reconstruct the alarm system programming from scratch with a new main board.

Technically it is possible. You can use the installer code and reset the master code and use that to disable a triggered alarm

The alarm would have already gone off and I doubt anyone would stick around.

Reprogramming the master code using the installer code is not possible when the alarm panel is armed. System must be disarmed first.
