[Walmart] Free 1 Month Hulu Plus Trial via Scott Shared Values (the paper towel company)

I was watching Comedy Central and saw this commercial about if you create an account on Scott Share Values (free to sign up for their newsletter, etc) you can then sign up for a free 1 month Hulu Plus Trial.

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS before you continue!

1) Valid US Address (you need to add this to your Scott Shared Value account)
2) Valid US Credit Card (otherwise you can't go ahead)
3) To watch Hulu Content in Canada, you can: a) visit www.tunlr.net OR b) get Media Hint for Chrome (extension) or FireFox (addon): https://mediahint.com/install_chrome.html OR https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... edia-hint/

ALSO NOTE: I did not use an US IP via VPN, Proxy, etc. I used my TekSavvy Internet with the Canadian IP address.

What I did was since a family member gave me a Walmart Visa gift card, I registered the CC to their address PLUS gave the same address after signing up at Scott Shared Values.

STEP 1:

Link to sign up at Scott Shared Values: https://www.scottbrand.com/offer/huluplus

STEP 2:

After you sign up, you will get an offer to get a coupon but skip it and continue to this page to which you will get a redemption code.

STEP 3:

Once you click on the link to redeem you will be taken to this page, so enter the email you signed up with Scott Shared Values and enter the promo code

STEP 4:

Then you will be redirected to Hulu's signup page and all you need is the email (if I am not mistaken) and the US Credit Card. Then viola!

You can cancel anytime before the 1 month via online but better to call after you do to confirm as a safety procedure.

Some Terms and Conditions from Scott's website:
Offer available only to new Hulu Plus subscribers. Credit card required. One-month free subscription is for the Hulu Plus regular monthly fee plus applicable tax. If you do not cancel your Hulu Plus subscriptions at the end of the one-month period, you authorize Hulu to charge your payment method each month for the subscription fees plus applicable tax until you cancel the Hulu Plus subscription. The Hulu Plus subscription can’t be redeemed for cash, resold, or combined with any other special or free offers. Please read the Hulu Plus subscription terms and conditions at hulu.com/terms for more details on activating and using the one-month free subscription.
FAQ for this Promo:

https://www.scottbrand.com/faq#ssv-huluplus

AS AN ADDED BONUS IF YOU REFER YOUR FRIENDS, you get an extra 2 weeks free added to the 1 month. I am not giving my link or the referral link here as it violates RFD but feel free to do so via PM but keep it legit and don't misuse it.

This is my first MAJOR Freebie post so please excuse me for any mistakes and I'll try my best to clarify if need be. Hopefully I gave clear instructions

You're welcome. Lets hope that others find it useful and such. Will you be a tester and see if it works on your end  ? I did try a Canadian prepaid Visa from RBC but that didn't work. So I thought of the Walmart one.

You were an inspiration to me haha with your posts :)

I don't have any US CCs, and by the time I get around to setting up US access through my router, it will be time to cancel. :o

If I was going back to the States, I would have given it a shot though.

I also started giving up on CC required trials... Too time consuming to cancel, and remembering the dates when to do it.

I signed up for the free (no cc required) 1-year Sirius XM promo last year, and haven't used it since, because it was supposed to be for US only,
and I can't be bothered to configure my tablet to access a US IP, so I stick with TuneIn, or TuneIn Pro that I bought for $0.25 a long time ago.

Now, I stick with the totally free "Freebies"

I apply, I forget, something shows up in the mail, I get surprised... Repeat.

I've even changed my procedure for getting free magazines...

I didn't care for the 1-year only thingy, so I would throw out a few requests at a time, and if they were accepted, I would merge them into multiple year subscriptions.

:arrowd: :arrowd: :arrowd: Good idea.

Understood, promos like this with an expiry despite CC or not, I make a note of it on my phone and set a reminder few days before expiry so I know when to either cancel online or call and cancel.

You can use your Canadian address and Canadian credit card. The trick is when both Hulu and Scott Shared Values asks for your Zip Code, just use only the numbers from your postal code and add two zero's at the end.

I used this method 2 weeks ago to sign up for Hulu (through Scott Shared Value) and Netflix USA :)

** as for needing a USA credit card, my Canadian American Express worked no problem for both Hulu and USA Netflix, I have no idea about Canadian Visa or Mastercard though. If your Canadian credit card doesn't work, this article mentioned above states to just create an American Paypal account which is fairly easy if you have a VPN service.

I tried entering a Royal Bank Prepaid Visa GC into the system with a relative's US zip code but no go :( Didn't want to set up PayPal either... Good to know though :)

I will update the thread.

I think that is the key!

I was previously able to add a prepaid $20 AMEX CC into the Play Store, and it accepted it as being a US CC, but since I was already visiting the US, I thought that was the reason.

There must be something about AMEX, which enables the ability to accept whatever address you'd like.

Not everyone has Amex, personally I don't since there are some stores that I go to don't accept Amex. Hence I stick with VISA lol.
