Usually for 'free' I recommend Wave. But comparing it to other software packages like QBO or Xero, it's much weaker and has a lot less to offer. Works well for Sole Prop or someone running their own business as a very small side hustle.

Hey I'm a sole prop small contractor. I have been using Joist for invoicing and excel for bookkeeping. Wave seems perfect for my needs but is there any downside to it? I love that it's Toronto based.
I like Joist because I can start an estimate on my phone and because its cloud based, I can finish it on my desktop.
