Newbie
One-time charges upon startup: $19.99 shipping fee;
$39.99 activation fee (plus applicable taxes).
Disconnect fee of $49.99 (plus applicable taxes) may apply.
Maybe it is cheaper to buy the printer instead.

Do they only give the free multi-function when one signs up online, or can one buy it at a retailer such as Staples or BestBuy and still get the multi-function?

If you go buy the hardware at the store, you won't be charged the shipping or activation fees....as for the disconnect fee, I don't ever intend on disconnecting my Vonage....LOVE IT!!!!
And I am sure you can call and convince them to give you the printer...in fact I will be calling tomorrow!!!

I bought at Staples (with a $65 MIR) - and simply entered the code in on the link provided (thanks!). I don't really know if this will work or not - but I figured it was worth a shot...

I'm actually thinking of switching to Vonage.
Do they still have a deal on new activiations at any retail stores? You used to be able to get the hardware, plus a credit, and you came out about even.
Anybody know the most cost effective way to sign up for Vonage(not to interested in the printer)?

As far as I know, the disconnect fee applies only if you don't ship the adaptor back to Vonage. The other charges can be avoided simply by purchasing in store.

I signed up for Vonage using the Brother promotion; however, I have not received any confirmation of the printer...
Is the promotion code for the two free months from here:
http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/s...d.php?t=191760
The coupon says that it expires 31 August 2005 though...

I looks like one has to pay the shipping back... Am I correct?
If so, then you would get $50 - ~$10 shipping back. I guess $40 for a VoIP adapter does not seem too bad. I have already unlocked it and it is working now. Need to try it with another VoIP provider.

mrken, when you signed up for the brother promo, did you have to order one of their adapters? I don't see an option to use a unit that is purchased instore - like the one you got from Staples

At first, I thought the promotion had ended because I did not see the option for activating a retail adapter, and I had already bought the adapter. But I believe I went back to the home page and clicked the registration or activation link. Got to the screen of the MAC ID. Then I closed it and tried the link again. And it showed the retail activation page!
I just hope they send me the thing. I need a new scanner with an ADF.

Did the promotion code look somewhat like 150405DJF02 from this thread:

If so, the code may be reusable, as the replies have suggested. Perhaps you can share it with us so that we potentially save two months of fees.
Thank you in advance!
