[FREE] Car seat installation clinic - Many GTA locations

There's a car seat installation clinic at numerous GM dealerships in the GTA. Apparently this happened at a few dealerships last year too, but they expanded it this year. Some of the clinics are already over, but there are a lot left. Registration required at http://www.weewelcome.ca/en/Car-Seat-In ... ion-Events. Post if you went last year... I'm curious how it went.

From the website:
General Motors Canada, Baby Car Seat Experts and Wee Welcome have teamed up to offer parents in the GTA free installations of car seats at GM dealerships. Just sign up below for your free appointment and bring your car seat and vehicle and Baby Seat Experts will install it for free! Registration is on a first come first serve basis and spots will be filled accordingly but please only fill out this form once. We will confirm your appointment time within 24 hours.

[Edit] I visited all the dealerships that were mentioned on the site, but only http://www.gatewaychevrolet.ca/ and http://www.markvillechevrolet.com/ are advertising. Oh, and they install your car seat for you $50 value.

I volunteered at a clinic like this in Alberta (many years ago). It was awesome and a little scary, so many small problems that are easily corrected. Even if you're brilliant and read instructions like a savant, bring your car seat in for an inspection or installation. It might not help you but it won't take much time and could have a big impact on your future. I remember, graphically, one mom puking when she realized her installation mistake and what it might have cost her.

If the seat is properly installed the car seat occupant will likely be the safest in the vehicle.

My uncle taught me a line I think of often [context was motorcycle riding but it applies]. "Dress for the crash, not for the ride". I've lost many friends on the roads and he's an old man riding with 50 years of experience. He's had bumps, bruises, fun and he's still around to share his wisdom.

please go if you qualify
