Very Nice Time!
We just came back from School restaurant with a party of 8 (3 adults, 5 young children). Made reservations, no problems. As stated in another post, they were very warm and friendly on the phone. They had confirmed that you can use AS MANY vouchers as you would like at one time; we used 2 vouchers. Easy access off of the Gardiner Expressway with free downtown parking in rear.
Loved the server, the intimate restaurant, the decor and the plasma screen tv that amused our kids. Ordered french soup & chicken fingers as appetizers, meat loaf, lemon chicken, fish & chips & cheeseburger as entrees, and carrot cake, chocolate chip cookies & icecream sandwiches, and chocolate molten lava cake. All food was very decent and plentiful...we went home with leftovers.
With young kids, we did find the interval between courses sometimes slow, but service was definitely not lacking.
We ordered a few coffees and a beer. We paid for the drinks and tipped 20% (on our own volition) and paid $55 for a meal that was $210 before tip. An excellent deal for all the food, service and atmosphere we enjoyed.
We do not live or work nearby the restaurant, but we would definitely go again if we were in the area. We know 2 other couples with free vouchers and will definitely be urging them to try the restaurant for themselves. If you have outstanding vouchers, please use them before they run out at the end of this month (January).

went last night and as others have said, the food and service were excellent.
had the calamari and baby greens for apps; sage roasted chicken and atlantic salmon for entrees; carrot toffee pudding and ice cream sandwich for dessert.
the chive biscuits that came with my chicken were delicious and they used a portable blow torch the carmelize my ice cream sandwich (i thought it looked pretty cool).
our total bill came out to $94 and only had to pay for a bottle of water we ordered (left a tip based on the original amount).
probably one of the best promos i've ever seen and will definitely try and return.
they've got a new promotion going on wednesdays between feb. 1 - march 28 for dinner - $25 for appetizer, entree and dessert: http://www.schooltoronto.com/event_t...php?eventID=43

no pics (i was there with my gf and i think it would've been a distraction), but the portion sizes were decent.
the calamari comes in a basket of about 10 smallish pieces.
the chicken was on a rectangular plate and was mostly dark meat (i'm guessing from the drumstick), which i actually prefer over white meat. the portion size was adequate for the (regular) price and i'm pretty sure you'll be satisfied with your meal.

Was there on Friday and really enjoyed ourselves. We had the Calamari and onion rings for Apps and the Meatloaf and Chicken for entree. The only thing that took me by surprise was that they didn't allow us to order our dessert from the dessert menu. They said we only can choose something from the bakery ie. muffin and cookies so we took 2 ginormous cookies to and I paid for 1 dessert from the menu. The food was awesome!!! Calamari was a large serving unlike what Nipple said. I had like 30 pieces in my basket. The onion rings were CRAZY good! EVERYTHING WAS GOOOD! drinks were expensive though. All in all I dropped $40. Greatest freebie ever!

they are no longer accepting the coupons!
I went a few weeks ago but my printer was out of ink so I didn't print the coupon. I thought they'd accept the coupon virtually if I showed them my email on my smartphone but they didn't. Said I had to come back with a print out as they only accept the coupon in print form. There were 3 of us and we stayed anyway and spent over $60.
Made a reservation for today. Told them at the time of reservation that we had the coupon and they said no problem. Got there and then was told that the coupon is expired. Expired? But it says right on it that it is good until Jan 31! Well, we are just not accepting them anymore so you can't use it. No further explanation given and the waiter took my printout. We left and spent our money elsewhere. Very upsetting.
School is my favourite brunch spot in Toronto and I go there often but now I'm pissed. They will no longer be getting any of my business.
If you haven't used your coupon yet, you're out of luck._______________

Was the manager not around to speak with? I would have made a scene and asked to speak with the manager.
Or phone in and ask to speak to the manager...
Fire also an e-mail to the school restaurant.
Last, go again with another printout of the coupon (If you are able to get there easily).....since technically the coupon should expire before January 31st...and therefore, they should honour the coupon.Last edited by Pochacco; Feb 1st, 2012 at 12:31 PM.

I still think you should try to talk to them....
My friend texted me yesterday to thank me for letting them know about the coupon... they were there yesterday and used it with no problem.
Makes me wonder if waiters on certain days act "differently"... just like how I went to this location afterwards and still got to order the selected dessert while on the day that 4flava went, he could only select cookies as their free dessert...
Good luck
On an unrelated note, my friend and I did leave a 20% tip to our waiter and he still looked pissed at us.. maybe he was expecting much more LOL
