Depending on the country the quarantine rules are different. My sister brought her dog over as well, but I also have a friend who tried bringing their cat to Hong Kong and was quarantined for atleast a month. The poor thing was so traumatized that it was never the same afterwards.

In the end it's probably easier and better to give the dog away to a loving home.

Very true. Some animals will go nuts in the airplane to begin with due to all the noise and vibration. Remember both cats and dogs hear better than us.

Secondly, quarantine conditions, and the whole experience can indeed be forever traumatizing. You would be doing your pet a FAVOR by finding him/her a good local home instead.
