LMAO!!!!!! Wasn't Metallica the band back in the day (late 90s) that had that entire lawsuit against downloading their MP3s on Napster??? And now their giving away free MP3 downloads.

I think there thinking at the time, was more of control. They wanted to control how their music was distributed. Napster didn't let them control it.

I don't think it was about the money, but they totally freaked out when their music was being distributed through means they couldn't control.

free mp3's is a decision they made.. free music on napster wasn't. I think Lars is a control freak.
