Free parking at UTSC?
Complimenting the Free parking at U of T St George? thread, any free parking at UTSC?
I know that north of Conlins, on Ellesmere, you are legally allowed to park. It's about a 5 minute walk to school from there, which isn't much farther than the walk from a bad outer-lot parking spot.

not much parking spots there... and unless you're early, you're out of luck majority of the time. :/

The outter lot takes me like 10 minutes plus to get to the management building, but then I walk slow.

Sorry, I'm confused. Where exactly?? Did you mean north of Ellesmere ON Conlins?
Because free parking would be great.

If I'm lazy, I'd park at the Highland Creek Community Park..

Reviving an extremely old thread.
Any more suggestions? I've heard of people getting tickets at the community park and the plaza on ellsemere, east of UTSC.

i went to utsc for 4 years from 2003-2007 and parking was always an issue... my first 2 years i just paid for the outer parking because it was still cheap.. i think like $250 ish a year for both years.. but then it started to go up to liek $400 then $500...
anyways... id say the food basics that the guy said is kind of far...especially if ur going to the management building, that food basics is like a 25-30 min walk im guessing.. maybe more.. and in the winter going up that hill to get back to your car is pretty bad...
there are a lot of places that are 20-25 min walk that u CAN park but if they notice your car there for like 10 hrs, u may get a ticket for not being a "customer"
what about the library along ellesmere? or all of the streets on the north and south side of ellesmere, east of conlins.. i use to drive in all the time from the back way (meadowvale) and it seems like there r TONS of streets there that potentially can be parked at...
i say spend like 15 min one morning/afternoon and drive around that area, north and south of ellesemere and look for an area that doesnt have the no parking signs... and then see if its worth it for the walk or not...it will be worth ur time to spend like 30-45 min to find a good spot if u want to save that like $500 a year
also, arent there some plazas near kingston/oldkingston rd and military trail that would probably only be a 20 min walk to management building

I'm curious, for those who paid for parking at utsc, was it ever full at its peak time? I'm thinking of driving to school, but I don't wanna pay for parking when it's full during peak hours.

Always been space. Quite a lot of space. There's never been a case where I've never been able to easily find any spot.
Finding a spot that's close to uni... that's another story. Then again, with the amount of careless kids banging doors on other cars, I don't care about close parking anyways. 30 seconds of walking is less of a headache than a dinged door.

I went from 1998-2003, and parked at the plaza most of the time which they started ticketing I believe in 2001, and there was this street, where you could cut across the field from Ellesmere and park at this residential street, first street that connects W. on Conlins (now its fenced, and no parking on that street).
Also, outer lot parking was something like $120 for Fall and Winter, and even cheaper for the summer. Up until 2001 I believe as well, you could actually get inner lot! But that was through a lottery (but it seemed like they gave it to all the girls somehow), and it was only $180 or so.
Plus, it outer lot was only on the W. side, and it was easier to park closer to the school. Now, its just ridiculous. Whoever is thinking or planning that area out, has no idea the amount of congestion, danger, etc that is being brought bc it is truly a parking lot-campus, and all they want to do is build, build build, without accounting for how it affects others.
