Alternatively, sign up here and get a free root beer anytime: https://awcoupon.ca/en/referral/h4RPme

(I literally get nothing, no benefit whatsoever for referrals, it's just a free root beer for anyone that signs up with a referral link.)

For the coupon book I received in the mailbox yesterday (Ottawa), there are two coupons for free Root Beer valid until July 31. Note: One coupon per guest per visit. Also on coupon for free root beer with purchase of Teen burger, and one for free root beer with purchase of onion rings. Can not stack coupons.
The free root beer coupons are not on awcoupon.ca for me.

For this coupon book and the on-line coupon page, for the first time - the Beyond the Meat combo for $8.99 and they give $2 to MS Society of Canada.
Also note with the coupons,
upgrade to a Beyond the Meat patty with any burger for $1.50,
upgrade to a root beer float for $1.50
upgrade to onion rings for $1.20.
I have been enjoying the coupons for mama combos upgraded to rings - a little too much.

I wish that free root beer site for a&w still existed. Could just bring the coupon up on my phone any time i walked by one and wanted a root beer.

In before the cardboard straw complaints.

But I find leaving the straw out after using it works fine. Annoying but it's a step I'm willing to deal with to get rid of one plastic straw

This!!!!... it's amazing how far we'll go to avoid an inconvenience over a short period of time in spite of long term consequences. I try to catch myself as often as possible.

Personally those cardboard straws really take away from the enjoyment of the drink itself but it's definitely good on A&W to discourage plastic straw use. One could always bring their own (hopefully reusable) straw.

You know, there's an easy solution to this: don't take 5 hours to drink it and your straw will be fine. I exaggerate but you know what I mean.
