Followed these steps as outlined:

Main Menu > [1] UMTS > [1] Debug Screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] Network Lock > Options [3]Perso SHA256 OFF > (after choosing this option, wait about 30 seconds, then go back one step by pressing the Menu button then select Back,

---> this is the point where I don't see the next step:

now you are in [6] Network Lock then choose [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ ..... wait for a minute then reboot your phone.

Am I missing something? Trying to unlock for my wife's Bell SIII...
I'm with Rogers and have the same thing happen on my S3. Hope I did not screw up my phone.

Same problem as me. This means your phone can't be unlocked.

Same. Oh well.

I'd also recommend nobody play with the service menu. It's very easy to mess something up.

I don't get Option 4 after hitting menu, back on my Rogers S3.

Original XDA link?

I'm using Bell Galaxy S3 (I747), put a Telus Sim card in, try [3]Perso SHA256 OFF,get :SHA256_ENABLE_FLAG[0] SHA256_OFF NOT CHANGE show up, wait 30 seconds, go back to [6] Network Lock but I don't see option: [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ exists

can anyone tell me what I did wrong, Thanks!

Nothing, it appears as S3s on Rogers, Bell, or Telus cannot be unlocked.

Could somebody with a Locked Samsung Galaxy S 2 X Try this :
Dial *#197328640#

Main Menu > [1] Debug Screen > [8] Phone Control > [5] Simulation > [4] Network Lock > Options [3]Perso SHA256 OFF > (after choosing this option, wait about 30 seconds, then go back one step by pressing the Menu button then select Back, now you are in > [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ ..... wait for a minute then reboot your phone

The menus are not the same, but I did find the same menus needed as per the instruction. Can't try this on my phone as mine is already unlocked . :)
