Freedom Mobile $200 off tab?

Hey,

Right now Freedom Mobile has $200 off phones if you sign up for a plan with the tab : https://www.freedommobile.ca/docs/defau ... -offer.pdf

I was wondering if it is possible to sign up for the phone with a regular $40 plan with a tab, and paying off the tab and keeping the phone?

They write, "The amount of the discountreceived will be added to your MyTab."

If so, that calculates to around a $200 savings on a brand new smartphone no? Am I missing something? There doesn't seem to be any conditions about if you pay off the tab and cancel but rather "if you downgrade from an Eligible Plan within 24 months, you will
be charged a fee equal to all, or part of, the promotional MyTab bonus you received at the time of activation."

Up to $200, (usually less than $200) savings. And you have to add a minimum $5/month boost for more than 24 months.
200-5*24=80
In fact, you will save much less than $80

This is incorrect. If you buy one of their new LTE eligible phones you get $200 off when adding a minimum $5 boost. So with the $5 boost you would get $320 off the phone.

You cannot pay off your boost early and lower the tab. They will deduct the $320 over 24 months until there is no balance left.

Basically ensuring you stay for 24 months unless you pay back the remaining tab.

What would happen if I cancelled? Would they charge the promotion onto the price of the final price of the phone?
