Freedom Mobile (legacy plans?)

My dad has been with Freedom since they were Wind with the $35? unlimited plan. He asked for advice on switching to the $65 plan with the iPhone 8 and i was under the impression that he was still on the older cheaper plan and i told him that it would be a bad idea. He then let me know his price plan only lasted for a year before it switched to $45, and eventually $50.

I am just curious if there was any truth to this, if he got swapped out to a higher plan without knowing better.

Appreciate any insight.

I don't recall it ever saying that it only lasted for a year. I would check my old contract from when I signed up for it, but I figure that it would be pointless. From my understanding, they are allowed to change rate prices on a month to month plan so long as they notify you 30 days prior.

Wind is pretty good with grandfathering old plans. I bet the guy at the kiosk told a few lies to provoke a switch to a higher priced in market plan.
