[Freedom Mobile] LG V30 zero down, $15 x 24mo = $360

Freedom is offering the LG V30 for $0 down and $15 boost per month for 24 months. The total cost is therefor $360. It requires a $50+ plan.

This is an excellent device that was recently hacked to unlocked the bootloader.

Same display as is featured on the Pixel 2 XL and is notch-free. V40 being announced soon but it's really not much different from the V30.

A brand new V30 for $360 is a really good deal.

I had my V30 for about 6wks - got it on launch day in Sept. 2017 and sold it at a loss by mid October; for a phone that advertised the photo and video features so much it had the worst image quality of any phone I'd used since the Blackberry Bold. Everything was over processed with too-aggressive noise reduction (plastic skin) and harsh over-sharpened edges. There was no way to turn any of these things down. The phone was severely let down by the camera software on a photo & video-centric phone. Hopefully this has gotten better in the year since launch?

I would calculate it as ($15+$50)x24=$1560

That's the price of getting two years of cellular service with the phone. Not quite the same, as it sounds like you could technically pay off the balance early.

It's alright if you are already on Freedom and can make use of the plan. I wouldn't get it if you have to pay $50 extra each month for a plan that wouldn't be used.

LG's don't hold their value, If I had to make a choice with Freedom, I'd lean towards the S9 or IP8 which they are offering for the same $360 price and flip those instead.

LG phones have been a major let down since the G5.

Stuck with Samsung and haven't looked back.

Have a T-Mobile LG V20. Still waiting for Android Oreo update. Both security and system updates have been very infrequent since I got it in early 2017. I would get a G7 for $360, but not a V30 purely for the longevity of the device.

I got the v20 about 2 years ago on freedom. I got the Android 8 update about a month ago. Works very well. The phone is awesome, it was the first phone in the world to have Android 7 and freedoms first LTE phone.

About a few month ago, you can pre-order a lg g7 for 20 tab with a free 43 4k lg tv, this is nowhere near a deal like that

V40 will have a Snapdragon 845 instead of Snapdragon 835 in the V30

If you cancel they will charge you for the full price. So this is quite different than a Koodo buy/cancel deal.

Also, you could apply this deal to most phones at Freedom. If you want to keep your money get an iPhone.

Finally you can get friend and family discount when they offer it to get the $50 plan price down to $32.50, and if you do they still count it as a $50 plan.

All in my own experience YMMV.

I think it had improved since. I recently got my LGV30 and I am satisfied with it. The battery is good, DAC great, and the camera is great. You can modify how you want to take the pics on the camera app. Here is a pic I took on my way to work. Image
