I just notice that the freight charge for the new car has gone up to $1430. I remember it was $900-$1000 several years ago.

Is it a standard charge for all new car purchase (there were a couple other federal charges, total is another $300)? The salesperson told me it is charged by the government, not from the dealership, is it true ?
