Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Seems like this show is regaining its popularity cause of syndication. I watch it once in a while for old-time's sake heheh.
Do you remember how sometimes Will would call a girl, and she'd say no because she was "washing her hair"?
What's the deal with that

Newbie
best show
Fresh Prince would have to be a top show for me
FYI-during the first couple seasons, 70 percent of Will Smith's pay cheque went to the Government because he owed them over two million dollars from all the money he made rapping.

ahaha;
what a coincidence - i've been watching seasons 3+4 for the past couple of days and this post showed up;
i actually have a question that i've been wondering since i first watched this show:
how come the actress playing vivian in the show was changed once season 4 started?

Fresh Prince seems to come on at really convenient times for me. Its always on when theres nothing 'fresh' to watch and is the perfect one episode show to watch. I was watching the other day and totally forgot that Tyra Banks was on the show.
One of my favorite episodes to watch was when they went on to almost win the basketball tournament and Carlton missed the rim by like 8 feet.

Classic sitcom from the '90s. Up there with Seinfeld and Simpsons for me and waayy better than Saved By The Bell (all shows i watched growing up)
And from what I remember, Vivian was re-cast because the original one got pregnant in real life, they had to add this into the show, which led to Nicky's character, and they eventually fired her.

There was an E! True Hollywood Story where this was discussed.
I think during the third season the actress that played Vivian said (her words) that because of the hormones during her pregnancy she was difficult to work with that year. At the end of the third season she was given the opportunity by the producers to continue in her role but they were going to have her appear in fewer episodes. She turned this down because it would have meant less money since she'd be in fewer episodes. She said she changed her mind a few days later and called them to accept the offer, but they had already hired the other actress.
I remember at the time hearing rumours in tabloids about her not getting along with people on the set etc., so don't know what the "real" story was, but that is what was said in the True Hollywood Story episode.

It was actually Will Smith that played the biggest role in the firing of Vivian. I remember this from E! True Hollywood Story. Its a shame because she's 10x a better actor than the second vivian. You can read more about it here.
