Hope I'm not hijacking, don't want to create another thread but I'm also looking for someone that would service in Scarborough.
I believe the fan for the fridge died as the freezer still works, any idea how much it would cost to replace the fan motor?
Got a quote from Direct Energy and they charge $80 just to visit.![]()

Some repairs can be done by yourself. check out the forum www.applianceblog.com. You can read so many proplems and solutions. For anything major, you may want to call in a technician. I am thinking about calling one as well.

Thanks for the tip and forums, I'll try troubleshooting first before calling in the pros.

In very few fridges will you find a fan in the fresh food section. There is a fan in the freezer that pushes cold air into the fresh food section. Typically when you find the freezer is cold but the fridge is warm it is a problem with the defrost cycle. Upon closer inspection you should find that the freezer isn't actually working at 100% either. Your ice cream or frozen juice will be soft and if you put a thermometer in the freezer you will find the temp to be closer to 0 celcius rather than -15 like is should be. If this sounds like your issue, call a pro.
My 2 cents

How old is the fridge. My 3 year old Maytag had the same issue with fan failure, no cold air from the freezer to the fridge. Guy took about an hour to replace the fan. Although mine was under warranty I would guess about $250 total.
If the fridge is reasonably new, try complaining to the manufacturer because a lot of new fridges put in crappy plastic fans to get Energy Star certification
