I didn't specifically measure the power consumption. What do you mean by different "design"?
I have a 2600 sq.ft. house and was using the 70pint in my 1200 sq ft unfinished basement and it was unnecessary. The 50 pint pulls in the same amount of water in a day (in my case) and uses less energy. the 30 pint would probably have been too small.

I have mine set at 60, mold grows at 65 so thats all i am interested in preventing. The lower you go the higher your energy consumption will be (exponentially), if i were you i wouldn't go lower then 50%
