How can I find out if that battery will fit a Dell Inspiron 2600 laptop? I have the correct Dell branded laptop on a website and it has a list of "original part numbers" for the battery. BTW in your post it says "compal cl-"... is that a typo and supposed to mean compaq or is compal the correct name? I want to order the batter if it will fit my laptop here.

Hi there. I'm pretty sure the battery can only fit a particular model. And yes, it is for Compal, not Compaq. Compal is a manufacturer of many laptop chassis for many big brand computer makers, so that is why the name is not heard too often.
