Difference?
Hey Rupture,
Can you tell me what the difference is between those two models in regards to performance (Mbits) and what you mean by "extended reach"?
Thanks!

yea.. am also interested in smilodon's question... and also, will it be guarantee against DOA (since you mentioned no refund or exchange)? Was these used on Sympatico? Do you know if Sympatico will reduce my rate if I have my own modem? Where are you located?

Hi guys, thanks for the questions. The Speedstream 5260 "extended reach model" is intended for a better connection with the switching office. From experience I am not sure if it makes much of a difference because I live close to my switching office. I have read on forums that this model is ideal for people who live further away from their switching offices.
Both the 5260 and 5360 support up to 8Mbit down and 1Mbit up.
I guarantee 100% that these modems will arrive in perfect working condition to your door. In the three years that I have used DSL service, I've tested out many Speedstream models, all (with the exception of USB ones) have performed well and were very reliable.
I think that Sympatico includes a modem rental fee with their price but I am not certain. I personally use Inter.net which has been extremely reliable. Plus it’s cheaper than Sympatico
I am located in Toronto (Beaches, East End) but most weekdays I am downtown. If you're nearby, we can do a local exchange and you can test it out.
Thanks!
