Hot deal indeed. I have that 40mm on my T4i. Its pretty sharp. And F2.8 is enough for indoors. IMO. I have the 50 mm as well And 1.4 isn't that much better. If you want good indoor pics get a speedlite.

So the
T3i at BB $495 (bag and battery)
T3i at FS $585 (bag, battery, tripod, 40mm)
$90 more for tripod + 40 mm
Is it worth $90 for the 40mm (consider the tripod is cheap so not really count)
I guess we get this one.

Not a bad packaged deal. A backup battery is always welcomed and the 40mm lens should give people a bit of training for future prime lenses. Not sure if that tripod will be equipped to house a heavier lens, though. Manfrotto is a solid brand so I assume it'll be OK.
Thanks OP, posting to the front page.

I have the T3i and the 40mm pancake and i have been extremely happy with the results. pictures come out sharp. I purchased the body and Lense for 498 after tax. this is a great deal to get the kit lens, manfrotto tripod, bag and extra battery.

Wow, I did not know it is Manfrotto tripod included. How do you know because I did not see this Manfrotto mention in the product page? This tripod or the BB one on sale is better?
Hmmm I just bought the T3i from BB, now I have to seriously consider this one. This (with tripod + 40mm) for $90 more is a damn good deal. It only means no go out for lunch for me an extra 2 weeks
