I believe it is. its not made by samsung, not sure whom its made by, sound quality is pretty decent though.

Something else I found out is the record line in feature records to mp3 format automatically

if it didn't list out .asf as one of the format it supported, it probably can't play this format. i have lots of radio show in this format. so far i only found mpio, samsung and iriver that support this format.
