Futureshop has this set for 599.99. Quite many good reviews on this set.

Best speaker deal I've seen was the KEF deal at NCIX last Saturday. http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...e=KEF%20Canada
$568 regular $1500. Got a pair. Had the intention of advertising them on here but the very next day the sale had ended.
lol suffice to say this comment helps no one.

Nice set of HT speakers for those starting out or upgrading from their Logitech computer set-ups.

Been watching these and the Polk RM10FS... missed the $349 sale on the Polks most recently... Is $599 the "normal" sale price? Or would waiting get me a better deal? I don't need them quite yet... want to get a whole new set over the next couple of months (TV+AVR+Speakers)
Thanks!

The Polks have settled in at $349, apparently the new regular price:

bang for buck, the rm10fs wins.. not that these energy are bad, i've seen lots of great reviews on them, but it is still a little less than double the cost of the polks.
those few hundred extra bucks can be invested into a high quality amp vs a mediocre one.. unless you are a millionaire and don't care about price to value ratio.

I've had a set of these for 4 months or so. I'm no audiophile, so can't get into specifics and my opinion means little, but so far I've been very happy with this set of speakers. Nice crisp sound out of the speakers, the sub was a little boomy until I got the location right.

Are you referring to the Energy or Polk set?

Very good budget speakers with a decent amp. Will provide nice crisp sounds with no crackles or distortion even when the volume is jacked up. The sub is on the smaller side but does provide some ummmph. Though it doesnt really hit the lower frequencies it does a decent job.
I ahve the older Take 5 model which is the same set as these and they still sound great. They are small bookshelf sized but dont sound the part. Definately much better than Bose and better than the speakers from the THIB packages.
SOme reviews ....

I haven't tried these speakers, but I have bought the RM10FS when they had the friends and family sale (20% off) so around 279.99$ and they sound amazing, even at high volume.
So I don't know if these Energy are really worth the double...

how are the energy takes with music filling a room?
the polks limitation is that you would need separate tower speakers for house party kind of music.. the rm10fs is super for movies, but lacks the bottom/mid to fill a house with loud music (have to get into the sweet spot if u wanna listen)..which is why I bought separate towers and turned the rm10fs 5.1 into 7.1 :P

Since these speakers are bookshelf speakers. They are more for small to medium sized rooms. TO fill a house, you definately need towers. The bass is strong as you can hear it if its placed in the first floor from the 2nd floor of a house.
The reason i got these speakers is that in such a small package, they provide very good clean sound. Easy to mount on walls and are not large at all.
If the price is back to 899, that is a bit pricey and I rather get a set of SVS 5.1 spaekers. which go for $1500 or so. They will kill alot of speakers out there.
