Is the iPod remote the 3G/4G model?

I found the remote (eBay), it works on my iPod AND Mini

1G and 2G remotes have the electronic contacts surrounding the 1/8" jack.
3G and 4G remotes have the electronic contacts separate from the jack and will work will all iPods with a dock connector, including the mini.
