[Koodo] FS - HTC One V smartphone on Koodo Tab $24.99 with $50 gift card bonus

This is still a good deal, even though you get a $50 Future Shop gift card. Koodo offers the One V phone for $75 on the Tab (with a $50 Visa gift card) on its website, but Future Shop cuts that down to $24.99 in its flyer. Note the Future Shop link to the phone does not advertise the gift card at the moment. The sale ends on August 16, 2012.

The phone is $75 at Superstores with Mobile Shops, but you get a $75 President's Choice gift card. Depending on the rep, you can get it for next to zero and pay only the taxes according to this post:

If you want the One V and can't find a Superstore with stock, Future Shop is your next best bet.

Here's a link to the last post about the One V:

Hmm. With $150 on the tab, it's still a lot to pay for a phone with 512m RAM and no secondary camera :/

Is it only for new customers ?
What do you mean no secondary camera ? No front facing camera ?

Walmart has both the HTC One V and the Samsung Galaxy Ace each for $0 (with $150 on the Koodo Tab) plus $50 gift card.

The Walmart deal looks much better than what I found. How can Walmart give the phone away? What's the catch, other than having to pay off the tab?

There's no catch other than having to pay off your tab if you cancel your Koodo line.

Walmart get commission on the phone activation's. They won't let you buy the phone outright.

It is in their latest flyer. When I went into the store they hadn't changed the price yet on it so I had to ask. Seems like a decent deal because the same phone is $75 with the tab at koodo online. If you find the latest flyer it says that you can get either HTC One V or Samsung galaxy ace for the same price.

Wait, so you picked up the phone for $148.xx (+tax) straight up?

If I were to purchase this phone flat out with no tab, it would cost 173$ from places such as walmart? Unless I read your statement wrong (150$ Tab + 23$).

Yup. I had enough tab available so I didn't have to pay anything out of pocket. This phone is still showing $225 on the Koodo website.

Would Koodo require me to pay for a month of service if I wanted to cancel right away? So would it be an additional $20?

You'll have to pay prorata amount until the next bill date (about a week of service) if you cancel right away. If you are lucky they may cancel the service effective immediately. In such case you do not pay for the service at all.

Sorry for the late reply but as deanok1 states the phone is currently $0 with $150.00 tab....funny went today to get it and they still haven't changed the price and would charge me. The minute I mentioned it was in the flyer the girl reduced the $23.00 to $0.00....so if you could buy it outright it would be $150.00 + tax...but I don't think, as mentioned above that they will let you do this. All in all, with the $50.00 gift card, free Sim and activation...I think it's a decent deal.
