[Lenovo Canada] FS: Lenovo 15.6" Intel Core i5-2430M Laptop (1066XF6) - Black- English Only - Refb

Hi,

A couple of days ago there was a sale on the 1066XF1 model for $429.99 (now $469.99) That was posted here.

http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/ ... 5be537en02

Now they got the 1066XF6 model for $449.99 ($20 dollars more than the previous sale price of the F1 model)

http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/ ... f22310en02

For $20 dollars more you get:

750 GB Hard Drive instead of the 640 GB

Intel Core i5-2430M instead of the Intel Core i5-2410M (0.1 GHz more powerful?)

I think it's a decent deal, I just got the 1066XF1 model delivered to me, should I return it and get this?

I also just received the 1066XF1 and very happy with it..

For the time involved in sending this machine back to get the slightly bigger hdd and little better processor and spend 20 bucks more i will just keep my current 1066XF1 notebook as I have 4 hours into installing software on it.

Remember :
That means a real honest to Zod English keyboard! Nice!

I am also suprised these have been coming with 1 year warranties instead of the usual 90 refurb. Now if only they had matte screens...

Can someone confirm warranty is 1 year even it is refurbished? Does FS/BB take it back for warranty service or you have to ship it to Lenovo? thanks

OMFG you're joking! I ordered one just because it's not bi-lingual, I had to show my support :)

Laptops sold in Quebec = bilingual keyboard. Laptops sold everywhere else, QUIT FRIGGEN GIVING US BI-LINGUAL KEYBOARD!

I live in Quebec, I speak French and I still don't want a freakin' bilingual keyboard, they suck.
I understand if the government wants to protect French in Quebec, but denying products that are English is -NOT- the right way to do it. You're just pissing the "people that matter" off.

Nice to hear from someone in QC. I figured it must be impossible to type French on a regular english keyboard, the way the manufactures all switched over to bilingual! It's the small left shift key that usually gets me, freaking \\\\\ through all my documents ;)

The small shift key and the small backslash key also. I demand an English US keyboard wherever I work, I'm just more productive that way. They can be set in French Canadian in Windows all right, it's just that you don't have the stupid stickers to tell you. Big deal... *sigh*

If one needed to return one of these would they need to return it to the store?
It doesn't seem like any of my local stores carry them, but online does.
