I'm not going to buy it because I already have a wired mouse, but I've tried this one and it's pretty good. Fairly smooth, has 2 extra buttons on the side, pretty comfortable.
Might not work well for left-handers though.

I disagree. I have the really old version of this mouse, the Intellimouse Explorer, and love it. I'm so happy with it that 5 years later, I still don't see the need to get a more sophisticated mouse. From what I see, I doubt anyone would use their mouse for more than a year anyways before the next 50000000dpi super duper extreme gaming mouse comes along
.

I'd assume it would, but it may come with a USB-PS2 adapter for the mouse.

I got one last year from Stooples 150% PM and it works great! You only need one USB port as the fingerprint reader is also the wireless transmitter.

I guess that you can't use the fingerprint reader by itself since it's also the transmitter....
The fingerprint reader alone is 49.99

I don't see why not. Just install the fingerprint reader drivers and don't use the mouse.

I was looking into it before. In case people don't know, this fingerprint reader only works for webpages. So, if you intent to use it to log onto Windows, you're out of luck. To me, the limitation to only webpages password is a deal breaker. Plus, imagine if a hacker can now steal your fingerprint info stored in the PC. That's more of a risk than protection. After a second thought, I pass.

Not true. It can absolutley be used to logon to your PC. I maybe limited to XP but it does work to logon. Your second point is valid - this is not a security device. It is a convenience device. Simply put it tracks all your user names in an encrypted file and your fingerprint is used to decrpt, access and enter your infomration automatically. How secure is the encryption - you decide.
From this MS document:
"To log on to Windows by using your registered fingerprint
• At the Welcome screen or One Touch Logon screen, touch the fingerprint reader with
any registered finger.
Important
• If your computer is a member of a domain, you cannot use your fingerprint to log
on to Windows, you must use your password. However, after you have logged on to
Windows, you can use your fingerprint to log on to any Web sites and programs that
you have created fingerprint logons for.
• If you want to use your fingerprint to switch between Windows user accounts,
you must turn on the Welcome screen and Fast User Switching before you install
DigitalPersona Password Manager software. For more information about Fast User
Switching, see “Using Your Fingerprint to Switch Windows User Accounts” later in
this manual."

Nice to know that you can use that to log on. When I read through a bunch of user reviews from various sites, people stated that it can only be used for websites. Not sure why, maybe there has been an update on the product?
