I tried the denon (the one linked on page 1) and it would have this issue where the sound or video would disconnect at times. Its been a while so I forgot the exact symptoms but it was severe and people on avsforums said it was a common issue for denon brand recievers. They require expensive hdmi cables (which i do not have, NCIX cables)? not too sure what the deal is but I would never go back to a denon.

My two receivers are Denon and I've yet to experience that problem you described. I bought hdmi cables from monoprice years back though and they do sell quality cables. Most receivers now come with networking capabilities and with it, firmware upgrades to fix minor issues.blueworm123 wrote: ↑I tried the denon (the one linked on page 1) and it would have this issue where the sound or video would disconnect at times. I'd definitely go with an ethernet capable model whatever brand it is. One of mine doesn't have networking but it's still good. Maybe I don't leave the AVR's on 24/7 because they do generate a lot of heat (left mine on one day but with the TV/HTPC off). Heat is electronic's worst nightmare after a water bath.

Anything that people can recommend this week? That onkyo is 600 now, will they pm with Costco though? The Costco price is in store mind you.
