Not a mod. These are straight from the factory. They revised them as there were to many complaints . I believe else where in the world the label them as z5500D

I remember when they first came out and i read that unlike the Z680's you couldn't change the speaker wire and thought WTF? this will never fly I'm glad people complained. I had the z680's and they were just awesome! These have to be just as good if not a little better.
