Fs: Sold!
Picked this up along with another notebook, and I've decided to sell this one.
Specs:
Dell Inspiron 6000D (D for dedicated graphics
)
Intel Pentium M 1.86 ghz, 533 FSB, 2 mb L2 cache
1 gig DDR2, 2x512
Hitachi 60 gig 5400 rpm HD, 8 meg cache
Sony 8X DVD+/-RW with dual layer
15.4 WXGA (1280 x 800)
ATi x300 PCI Express X16, 128 megs dedicated
Intel 2915 Wifi card supporting A/B/G standards
3 year complete care warranty ending Sept 2008. Killer warranty that covers accidental damage, you could in theory throw this thing down a flight of stairs, call them up and they'd replace the machine for you.
Built in SD card reader, 10/100 lan, V92 modem, and all that good stuff.
Machine is in very good condition. Screen is pretty nice with no dead pixels. There are a couple of surface scratches since the dell plastic scratches pretty easily, but it's just cosmetic. Again, if it really bothers you, chuck it down a flight of stairs.
Seeing as the new 6400 core duos (dual core, whatever) are selling for 999. Core duo 1.66 vs 1.86 are roughly equal in performance (read this in a forum, I'd appreciate confirmation either way). But that config has no DVD writer, less ram, and a bigger HD. The "hot deal" at Dell also uses onboard video instead of the X300 which supposedly performs very well when overclocked (again, read that over at notebookforums). And the biggest difference of course is that my laptop has complete care till Sept 2008.
SOLD!

Damn...
If you had posted this a week and a half a go, I would have had my brother-in-law take this from you easily.
Anyways, good luck to you. Sure it'll go quick especially with the warranty.
