You can unlock for free if you root it and install Galaxy S unlock. I never got a first month fee.

No, I just checked and the referral offer is still there. After you log in, you'll see an ad banner at the top with 5 specials that change every few seconds. The referral offer is the second one. In the Terms and Conditions, Jan. 31, 2013 is the end date.

The battery consumption on this is also significant. I purchased this replacement battery/cover combo for $10 which is rated at 3500mAh versus the stock battery and find it really does double its usable life.

Well BB is still showing stock at many locations in the Vancouver area and you can reserve these online so they must have stock.
