For Black Friday around the corner and Boxing Day just a bit more than a month away, I think it's wise to just wait and see. Prices won't get lower after Boxing Day. Last year, most sales price was kept until like mid-January and it went back to full price.
thx for the advice. a lot of others on this forum are jumping onto lower-end mirrorless cameras at a bigger discount (like sony a6000) but i'd rather hold out for something good... i'm not a complete newbie to photography, as my wife has a 6D which i borrow on occasion.

Do you know the website photoprice.ca? It keeps track of price history as well as the price on most retailers. Very handy. One camera that I got my eyes on is the Sony A7 mk II and it's at $1599. $200 less than it has ever been.

Unfortunately, most big advertised sales are for DSLRs and lower end model mirrorless. I think that the T-20 won't go lower than $1000 anytime soon (it is $1050 right now I think) since it's a hot selling item.

Haven’t noticed much in the way of deals. Amazon had the Fuji 100-400 for $1999 for a few days but now it’s back up near normal. Vistek’s flyer says the Fuji 35 f2 will be $399 tomorrow ($100 off). Camera Canada has some open box stuff that comes with full warranty but other than that not seeing squat.

Fujirumors lists some US and Europe deals.

I've been trying to track down a new X-E3 kit with the 23mm lens. Does anyone know of any stores in Canada that have stock? Seems like they are very tough to find!

I really want to get into the X-Pro series, but I can't afford the X-Pro 2 right now, and it doesn't look like the price will be getting down to the $1500ish range anytime soon. I currently own the X-T1.

Thoughts on whether it's worth grabbing a second hand X-Pro 1 or should I wait?
Also, what's a fair price for a used X-Pro 1 in your opinion?

I'd say wait. There's really no point getting the X-Pro1 if you have the X-T1. It's actually somewhat of a downgrade in terms of features and usability. It does have the optical viewfinder but the EVF is much slower than the X-T1.
Some people just don't get that online forum posts shouldn't always be taken seriously.

Makes sense... Thanks for snapping me out of this dumb GAS mode I'm on right now.

... So I've given it much thought, and now I'm wondering if anyone on this thread has both an x-series interchangeable lens camera and one of the x100 series of cameras.... I'm now leaning towards looking for a 100S or T if the price is right. Thoughts?

X100T had been at $899 in Oct so you can expect this price again in BD. Good luck.

Thanks! I'll be on the lookout. That price seems really good considering even used ones on Kijiji are going for around that price or more.

I have the X100T & X-T1, which I bought later on. I used to only use the optical viewfinder because it was the reason I bought it. For the rangefinder style. With time, I got tired of the huge & inaccurate focus point VS the smaller and more precise focus point in EVF mode and since then, I use 95% of the time the EVF. Because of that, I got the X-T1 for it's bigger and better EVF. I'm left eye dominant so rangefinder or SLR style of camera makes no difference to me. I don't have a 35mm equiv lens on my X-T1, so whenever I need that range, I use my X100T.

Nonetheless, the X100T is a pleasure to use if you like the 35mm equiv focal length. I have the tele lens for the 50mm equiv and it's just as sharp.

Yeah Henrys had the x1t for 599 and X100T for 899 during the Black Friday. I missed the x1t but bought a used one that was rated 8+ with the 3 year wattanty for only 629 and it looks brand new. I’m sure something similar will pop up for the Boxing Day sales.

Thanks! Crossing my fingers that they still have some X100T in stock as the X100F has been out for a bit now...

I noticed Amazon and Camera Canada have the xt2 body only for 1799 (50 less than elsewhere) and Camera Canada has the X100F for 1549 which is 100 lower than usual.

The Henrys xt1 sold out again
